…d before. Being me, I need TripIt. It makes keeping track of flights and accommodation a cinch. There’s a Windows Phone version of their app and it works just great, showing everything you need to make sure you get to Gatwick in time. Need to know how many Polish Zloty you can get for £100 for the weekend? The XE currency app has you sorted, meaning you’ll never get ripped by a taxi driving telling you “twenty, very good price” again. Having frie…

48 hours in Hanoi
…f a decent size and are really well appointed with a massive bed, desk and computer, fast, free wifi and complimentary fruit and water. On demand movies are also provided on the big wall-mounted TV. The bathroom was compact, but had a great big shower and the place was filled with flower petals. This is the kind of treatment you expected in an expensive beach resort, not in a small central city hotel. The ground floor had a small breakfast area, j…
Welcome to 48 Hour Adventure!
…So we’re live with 48houradventure.com. I got this idea last night to create a blog solely dedicated to creating whirlwind guides of cities for when you’ve got no longer than 48 hours there and want to soak up as much as you can. …ng in London in October 2009. It was the biggest culture shock I’d experienced since leaving Australia due to the fact that NOTHING was in English, it was my first time being on the right hand side of the road and people kept trying to talk to me in German. It’s the second largest city in Austria and is the capital of the Austrian canton of Styria. Along with being a big student hub, with six universities and over 40,000 students…
How to prepare for your first solo weekend trip
…xit customs, look for a bus, train or metro sign. These are the three most common (and cheapest) transport methods to the city. Travelling solo for a quick weekender isn’t a common form of travel. It takes guts, inquisitiveness, determination and a good pair of shoes. But the rewards are right there. Spending 2 days away from your Monday to Friday life in a completely different place. Immersing yourself in new food and new people, another country’…
European Airlines Reviewed
…d job. Food and drink is available to buy onboard and the seats are pretty comfortable. As with all low-cost airlines, it’s a first come, first served basis on boarding (no allocated seating). Here comes the best part, the price. Expect to pay in the realm of £20 one way if you book in advance. Prices rise sharply the closer you book to the date you want to travel. Most flights I’ve taken have rarely exceeded £100 return, but make sure you compa…
